Ineligible Imported Foods under Inspection based on the Japanese Food Hygiene Law
（reported in October 2011）

Every month the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare(MHLW) announces the food and food related products whose imports are not approved due to their ineligibility based on the inspection according to the Japanese Food Hygiene Law.
In October 2011, 52 items from the world did not pass through that inspection.
Some of them are reported here for your reference:


§ Chocolates（CROWN MILK） Belgium
Incompetent reasons: Disagreement with the Japanese Food Additive Standard (sorbic acid 0.03g/kg was detected. )
Cause ; Contained in egg yolk, one of ingredients.
Order by MHLW: "Either disposal or reshipment should be done (storage of whole quantity)"

§ Syrup（AMERICOLOR SOFT GEL PASTE EGG YELLOW） USA
Incompetent reasons: Ineligible for the Japanese Food Additive Standard (Contained benzoic acid is beyond the acceptable quantity.)
Order by MHLW: "Either disposal or reshipment should be done (storage of whole quantity)"

§ Pickle：Olive（WHOLE BLACK OLIVE） Spain
Incompetent reasons: Ineligible for the Japanese Food Additive Standard (Sodium benzoate is not allowed to use.)
